A growing fire and security business is seeking an experienced Fire & Security Service Supervisor to support and lead its field engineering team in London. This is a hybrid role combining team leadership, technical expertise, and project coordination, offering an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to make a real impact on service delivery and customer satisfaction. You will work closely with management while remaining hands-on, ensuring engineering tasks meet high-quality standards and safety regulations, and mentoring a small team of engineers.

Responsibilities – Fire and Security Service Supervisor

As Service Supervisor (Engineer), your responsibilities will include:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Mentor and train team members, promoting ongoing professional development
  • Assist with on boarding and induction of new staff to ensure competency and confidence
  • Collaborate with management to implement strategies that improve team efficiency
  • Participate in engineering tasks, troubleshooting complex fire and security systems
  • Provide remote technical support to engineers to resolve issues quickly
  • Monitor quality of work, documentation, and compliance with KPIs, contracts, and standards
  • Conduct health and safety audits and enforce action plans to maintain a safe work environment
  • Maintain accurate project documentation including service logs, inspection reports, and remedial work records
  • Oversee inventory, equipment, and vehicle management for the field team
  • Report progress, issues, and recommendations to management to improve service delivery
  • Maintain and service electrical fire systems (e.g., alarms, extinguishers, suppression systems such as Ansul R102)
  • Undertake electrical repairs and installations where necessary
  • Monitor and record preventative maintenance schedules, noting defects and completing required actions

 

Requirements – Fire and Security Service Supervisor

  • Previous experience in the fire and security industry, ideally servicing electrical fire systems
  • Technical knowledge of systems such as Gent, Notifier Advanced, Kentec, or similar
  • Experience or willingness to learn Ansul R102 suppression systems and fire extinguisher servicing
  • Strong leadership, people management, and communication skills
  • Ability to build positive client relationships and provide excellent customer service
  • Familiarity with health & safety regulations, electrical standards, and contract compliance
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Physically able to work at heights (up to 3 metres) and lift up to 25kg
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., FIA, City & Guilds 2360 Part 1 & 2, IEE 18th Edition) are desirable but not essential if experience is strong
